A NOVEL OF FAITH AND HOPE
Angus He’s English-language novel follows Officer Jeremy and Sophie through addiction, danger, sacrifice and the search for healing in San Francisco. It brings his literary calling into conversation with faith, human wounds and the possibility of hope.
LIFE TESTIMONY
Angus He’s journey in Chiang Mai moved from literary work toward Christian faith, pastoral presence and a wider cultural mission.
After moving to Chiang Mai with his wife, Angus offered to teach writing to a pastor’s child without charge. Through that relationship, the couple encountered Christian faith. He later wrote the novel God in San Francisco, published in the United States, as an expression of faith and hope.
In September 2025, a young person close to the couple suffered a serious traffic accident and traumatic brain injury. Churches in several places prayed and accompanied the family. According to information shared by the family, the young person recovered more quickly than initially expected. Angus understood the experience as God’s mercy and the strength of faithful community support.
After visiting a local church, Angus felt called to devote more of his life to serving God. Soon afterward, a friend facing anger, family conflict and questions about faith contacted him. Angus listened, shared his understanding and prayed with him; the friend later entered church life and chose baptism.
Beginning in September 2025, Angus and his wife became involved in house-church ministry among Chinese-speaking people in Chiang Mai. Practical care from church members during a period of medical examinations showed him that Christian love is expressed through presence, meals, prayer and ordinary faithfulness.
Angus now understands his calling as more than writing alone. Through books, film relationships, prayer, fellowship and community visits, he hopes to carry faith, care and hope into the realities of people’s lives.
